Protect Your Account

  • Use a strong, unique password.
  • Never give anyone your password or OTP.
  • Don't reuse that password on other accounts.
  • Log out when using someone else's device.
  • Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) where available.

Nusrah Support will never ask for your password.

Profile Verification

Nusrah may use Phone Verification, Photo Verification, and Identity Verification to increase trust in profiles.

A verified profile may display a Verified Badge ✓.

Remember: verification reduces risk, but it doesn't mean a person has no bad intentions at all.

Watch for Signs of a Scam

Be careful if someone:

  • Declares love for you very quickly.
  • Asks for money or financial help.
  • Asks for your bank/card details.
  • Sends you a link you don't recognize.
  • Pressures you to leave Nusrah and communicate outside the platform right away.
  • Refuses video calls or meeting up for unclear reasons.
  • Asks for private photos or videos.
  • Uses emergency stories to get you to send money.

Don't send anyone money just because you've started talking on Nusrah. Romance scams often exploit romantic trust to convince someone to hand over money or personal information. (Internet Crime Complaint Center)

Block & Report

If you feel someone isn't safe:

BLOCK USER → Stops that user from contacting you.

REPORT USER → Sends a report to the Nusrah Safety Team.

You can report:

  • Fake profile
  • Scam
  • Harassment
  • Threats
  • Unwanted messages
  • Impersonation
  • Sexual harassment
  • Financial requests
  • Suspicious links
  • Content that violates Nusrah's rules.

Report and Block are essential safety features on any dating platform. (Safety Centre)

Protect Your Personal Information

Don't share early on:

  • Password
  • OTP
  • PIN
  • Bank details
  • Card numbers
  • Your full home address
  • Where you work
  • Sensitive family information
  • Personal documents
  • Private photos/videos you don't want shared.

Your profile information should be kept to the minimum needed to protect your privacy. (eSafety Commissioner)

Communicate Within Nusrah

We recommend staying on Nusrah Messages while you're still getting to know someone.

This keeps Report, Block, and Safety Tools available to you before you share your phone number or move to another platform.

Location Safety

Don't give out your exact address, like "I live at house number…, street…, near…".

Instead, use general information like Dodoma, Dar es Salaam, Arusha, or Mwanza.

Avoid making your exact location public.

Before You Meet

If you've decided to meet someone, do this:

  1. Tell someone you trust.
  2. Share who you're meeting and their profile.
  3. Meet in a public, populated place.
  4. Use your own transportation where possible.
  5. Set a time to leave.
  6. Stay in touch with someone close to you during the trip.
  7. Listen to your instincts.

If something feels unsafe, leave.

Safety guidelines recommend telling a friend/family member where you're going and having an exit plan in case things don't feel right. (eSafety Commissioner)

Family / Wali Support

Since Nusrah is focused on marriage, a user may choose to involve a Wali, Guardian, Parent, or trusted person at appropriate stages of the search for a partner.

The goal: more transparency, respect, and safety on the path toward marriage.

If You're in Danger

If someone is threatening, stalking, pressuring, or harming you:

  1. Stop communicating with them.
  2. Save any important evidence.
  3. Block and Report them on Nusrah.
  4. Tell someone you trust.
  5. If there's immediate physical danger, contact your local emergency authorities.

Nusrah is not an emergency service; for immediate danger, seek help from the relevant authorities. (Safety Centre)

Personal Photos and Videos

Don't send a photo or video that could be used to threaten or pressure you.

If someone threatens to share your photo or video: don't pay, don't send more photos, stop communicating, save evidence, and report the account.

There's No "Love Payment"

Nusrah should never become a place for asking each other for money under the guise of romance.

Don't send money to someone you met online for:

  • Travel
  • Medical treatment
  • Tickets
  • Business
  • Investment
  • An emergency
  • A visa
  • Family support
  • A promise of marriage.

Rules of Respect

Every member is expected to uphold: Respect, Honesty, Privacy, Consent, Good Character, and Marriage Intentions.

Not allowed:

  • Harassment
  • Threats
  • Deception
  • Fraud
  • Impersonation
  • Discrimination
  • Spam
  • Pressuring someone
  • Using Nusrah for purposes other than marriage.
